Small Business Grants

There are some new small business grants on offer from the Queensland Government.

You may qualify for one of the other grants on offer for which we have provided a brief description below and attached a brochure where available.

Business Basics Grants Program – $5,000

Open 31 May 2021

Closes 30 June 2021 or when funds available are exhausted.

Per the attached brochure, the Business Basics grants program provides support business to increase core skills and adopt best practice.

It is available for 5 specific activities and the cost must be a minimum of $5,000 plus GST.

  • Training and coaching
  • New, or upgrade to existing website
  • Business advice
  • Strategic marketing
  • Business continuity and succession plans

Any cost over $5,000 must be funded by the applicant.

To be eligible for the grant your business must:

  • Have less than 20 employees
  • Have and active ABN and be registered for GST
  • Be based in Queensland
  • Have turnover of $300,000 or less in the current financial year

Business owners / directors must not be insolvent or an undischarged bankrupt

Other grants that are on offer that you may be eligible for are listed below:

Business Growth Fund Program – up to $50,000

Open 11 May 2021

Closes when funds available are exhausted.

This grant provides funding for high-growth businesses to buy specialised equipment.

The grant offers up to $50,000 towards the purchase of specialised equipment.

The applicant is required to fund at least 25% of the purchase.

As you would expect with the larger chunk of funds available, the eligibility criteria and application process is more complex.

Small Business – Business Boost Grant – up to $15,000

Opening late July 2021

Closing date TBC

There are no further details available on this grant yet however the expected launch date is mid-July 2021.

As yet, information is limited on this grant. We are not aware if there will be any restrictions on this grant if you have applied for other grants.
